As the concept of “technology” is integrated into all elements of education
(standards, requirements, expectations of administration, etc.), music teachers can
be overwhelmed with the idea of finding tools that function successfully in their
classrooms and are pedagogically appropriate for use with students. In this session,
Julianna Mateyko, Director of Support and Training for MusicFirst, will discuss what
“technology” can mean and ideas for implementation, in addition to pros and cons of
using cloud-based technologies in the music classroom. She’ll explore not only the
tools provided by MusicFirst, but other free tools popular with music teachers
around the country.
